As at most international exhibitions, at Seville Expo 92 in Spain New Zealand presented Māori culture as integral to New Zealand identity. The opening of the New Zealand pavilion in April 1992 featured performances by Te Waka Māori cultural group, and included two prominent Māori in the welcome ceremony: entertainer Howard Morrison and Bishop Whakahuihui Vercoe. This report from Māori language news programme Te karere shows the performers, scenes from the opening of the pavilion and some views of the expo site.
