New Zealand Day at Osaka, 1970

Video file

This short film clip shows New Zealand Day at the Osaka Expo in 1970. New Zealand's presentation put a strong emphasis upon traditional Māori culture, while contemporary life was expressed through a brass band and rural pursuits, including wood chopping and champion shearer Godfrey Bowen's performing rams.
