First wearable arts show, 1987

The Chez Eelco Wearable Art Awards – which became the world-renowned World of WearableArt (WOW) – started off in Nelson in 1987. The avant-garde nature of the 1987 entries in this television clip are a world away from the extravagant creativity on show at WOW during the early 21st century.
