In 1958 Dargaville commemorated its 50th jubilee as a borough with a display of old furniture and clothing, and a street parade representing the different communities of the town. This Pictorial Parade film records the event. There were many such celebrations in smaller communities during the 1950s as people looked back on the economic progress of the previous half-century.
