After the ball is thrown in from the sideline by an umpire, there is scrappy play before the ball hits a post and crosses the line for a behind (worth one point) to the Hawks. The Australians restart play with a smart interchange of kicks and handballs, but a long kick forward is marked nicely by a Hawk, who kicks a drop punt to a teammate nearer the camera. His kick is marked and, after a tussle for the ball, a Hawk scores a goal (worth six points) from an acute angle by kicking the ball between the goal posts.
