Erin Baker wins Ironman

Video file

One of Erin Baker’s earliest international successes was her victory in the Toohey’s International Ironman event at Foster Tuncurry, New South Wales, on 20 April 1985. She was the first woman to race the distance in under 10 hours. This was the beginning of an outstanding career for Baker in both triathlon and ironman events. This clip shows her winning the race and notes the support of her family. Philippa Baker, a leading sculler, was her sister.
