This film shows Jim Sheratt scoring a try in a match between the Kiwis and Wales at Cardiff on 5 January 1946. The Kiwis, the 2NZEF (2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force) rugby team, won 11–3. The commentator is Winston McCarthy, who was in the early stages of his broadcasting career. Among the New Zealanders who attended the Cardiff game was Prime Minister Peter Fraser, who was visiting the UK.
