Men of C Battery 16th Field Regiment, Royal New Zealand Artillery, and C Company 3rd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) play basketball in Korea in 1954. The fighting in the Korean War had ceased with the agreement of July 1953, but with no formal peace settlement New Zealand troops remained in the country until 1957. As in previous wars, sports were an important pastime and morale booster in Korea, with 'internationals' being keenly contested.
