Video file

In 2011, four members of the New Zealand armed forces received gallantry awards. Corporal Albie Moore received the New Zealand Gallantry Star, and Corporal Matt Ball and Lance Corporal Allister Baker received the New Zealand Gallantry Decoration for their actions in Afghanistan in 2010, during the conflict in which Lieutenant Timothy O'Donnell was killed. Warrant Officer Denis Wanihi received the New Zealand Gallantry Medal for his work disarming explosive devices in Afghanistan. In this TV1 news item from October 2011 the soldiers discuss the actions that led to receiving the awards.
