Arrival of the US Marines in New Zealand

On 14 June 1942 the United States' 1st Marine Division landed in Wellington. This film, made the following year, describes their first day ashore through the diary of a private, Bob Hatch. After landing on Aotea Quay the marines went by train to Paekākāriki, where they set up camp. The film records their first impressions.
