Since the publication of her first book of poems, The long road to teatime, in 2000, Anna Jackson had published another four collections by 2013. Much of her poetry dealt with issues of family and childhood interpreted and understood in the context of wider literary traditions. Jackson is also a distinguished academic, teaching English literature at Victoria University of Wellington. She is photographed here in the Gus Fisher Gallery, University of Auckland, before she recorded a selection of her poems for the Aotearoa New Zealand Poetry Sound Archive in 2002.
