This 1958 health stamp depicts a girl passing through an archway to join fellow members of the Girls' Life Brigade. The proceeds of health stamps helped fund children's health camps. Youth organisations such as the Girls' Life Brigade (later Girls' Brigade) got involved in charity work such as health-stamp promotional campaigns, and were often asked to help post office staff sort orders and frank first-day covers.
