Makatote viaduct

Designed by Peter Hay and built by J. and A. Anderson’s, the Makatote viaduct was the highest on the main trunk railway line when it was finished in 1908. Located 12 kilometres south of National Park, the viaduct was 78.6 metres high and 262 metres long.
