Tramping family, 1975

In the 1970s the Gee family belonged to the Tararua Tramping Club. From left are Dennis, Marjorie, Michael (10) and Dianne (8). Their gear is typical of the time: Swanndris (a brand of heavy woollen shirt) and external H-frame packs. Trampers usually wear shorts, for ease of movement.
