Wellington Welsh Society banners

The Cymdeithas Cymraeg Wellington Welsh Society was formed in 1907 and is still active. In the late 1980s Paul Evans, whose father and wife were both Welsh, joined the committee. He thought that the society needed something to display on public occasions to provide an authentic atmosphere, so he designed and made a banner each year. He is pictured (right) sitting beneath his banners at the society’s St David’s Day celebrations on 1 March 1998.
