Footprint in Rangitoto ash

This human footprint was found in ash from Rangitoto, which erupted about 1400 CE. The footprint was covered in ash from later eruptions, and uncovered during archaeological excavations on Motutapu Island, adjacent to Rangitoto.

Just a quick note to say that the foot print was found already exposed by my friend Rodway, he has worked on both Rangitoto and Motutapu Islands for many many years...the article states it was uncovered during archaeological excavations on Motutapu Island, adjacent to Rangitoto. This is incorrect and should be corrected immediately as it is not factual - Rodway has had no recognition about his/this findings and I think in all fairness this needs to be recognised Please keep me updated and informed Kind regards Hinemoa Te Hira From Bach 101-Rangitoto Island, Islington Bay
