Ngāruawāhia High School dance group, 2011

In 2011 a dance group from Ngāruawāhia High School reached the national finals of Bring It On, a secondary-schools hip-hop dance competition. This was the first time a non-Auckland group had made it this far. They did not place but their commitment was noticed. Bring It On producer Ben Viqasi said, 'It's been a long time since I've seen a group as hungry to succeed as they are in Ngāruawāhia'.
