James K. Baxter and Ronald Hugh Morrieson were two hard-drinking mavericks of New Zealand literature who never crossed paths in real life. Ken Duncum's 2010 comedy Horseplaybrings them together in Morrieson's kitchen in 1972 Hāwera.
