In 1855 Hoani Wiremu Hipango (right) travelled with the Reverend Richard Taylor (centre) to England, where he met Queen Victoria and presented her with gifts from the Whanganui tribes. Here they are seen in England in 1855 with Taylor's son, Basil (left).
