Alan MacDiarmid unveils the Maurice Wilkins sculpture, 2003

Alan MacDiarmid (left) and Alan Heeger unveil a sculpture dedicated to DNA researcher Maurice Wilkins, at Victoria University of Wellington in 2003. MacDiarmid shared the 2000 Nobel Prize for Chemistry with Heeger, an American, and Hideki Shirakawa of Japan. The award was for their work on discovering and developing conductive polymers.
