Journalists write news reports and longer feature stories for newspapers. In New Zealand, as in other countries, they developed a reputation as hard-drinking, tough and resourceful professionals. This quartet, from Wellington's Evening Post, is shown in Auckland in 1950, reporting on the British Empire Games (later known as the Commonwealth Games).
