Country singers Brendan Dugan (left) and his father, Pat Dugan, are shown in 2012 on being inducted into Gore's Hands of Fame. The Southland town has declared itself New Zealand's country music capital. The annual New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards are hosted by the Gore Country Music Club, attracting musicians from around the world. The Hands of Fame Induction Show honours people who have made major contributions to country music. The handprints of inductees are embedded in concrete at the base of Gore's Hands of Fame monument.
