Henry built an affectionate bond with the Tūhoe people during her time amongst them as a Presbyterian missionary from 1917 until 1948. This photograph appears to have been taken when she was presented with gifts, including a calabash said to have been brought to New Zealand on the Mataatua canoe and an iron pot believed to have come from one of James Cook's ships.
