The importance of sporting success to the nation is often symbolised by the support that successful teams get from political leaders. Here, Prime Minister John Key (right) joins the All Whites coach Ricki Herbert in waving to the New Zealand supporters after New Zealand held Italy to a draw in their group match during the 2010 FIFA World Cup at Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit, South Africa, on 20 June 2010.
