Opened in mid-2008, the Naseby Ice Luge in Central Otago is the first and only track of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The track is located in the forest above Naseby's Indoor International Curling rink and close to an outdoor ice skating and ice hockey rink. It is 360 metres long, with 10 curves. Its gradient allows sled riders to reach a maximum speed of 60 kilometres per hour.
