Karen Hanlen

Karen Hanlen

Karen Hanlen competed in the women's cross-country event during the 2012 London Olympic Games. She started well, but crashed on a tricky downhill section, costing her a place or two. She then got a flat back tyre, leading her to slip further behind. Despite these setbacks she finished 18th in a field of 28. Hanlen had only begun mountain biking two years before.
