A group of men watch television while drinking at the Gluepot Tavern in Auckland in the 1970s. Rather than each buying rounds of individual drinks, they appear to have taken turns to buy a jug of beer to share. 'Shouting' drinks for the group is a ritual that has its origins in 19th-century mateship.
