'Boy racers,' 2007

'Boy racers,' 2007

This 'boy-racer' car is out on a Saturday night, on Great South Road, Ōtāhuhu, Auckland, in May 2007. For many young people Friday and Saturday night activities in the early 2000s involved meeting with friends, driving around, drinking and going to parties. The high-spirited behaviour of youths has long been regarded as anti-social by older people and continues to raise concerns, especially when it is dangerous or illegal.
