Saturday market at Nelson

A busy day at the Saturday market, Montgomery carpark, Nelson. Saturday and Sunday markets have become increasingly common since the late 1970s. Nelson's Saturday market, set up in 1978, has become a local institution, while the addition of a Sunday flea market has also proved very popular. The market is shown here on a busy Saturday in 2010.
