Flatting, 2011

Dunedin, one of New Zealand’s university towns, has a strong tradition of student flatting. Every year the students' association gives an award for best student flat – here, 2011 winners Brad Brosnan, Zoe Jacques, Anna Small, Danielle McRae and Chantelle Jackson show off their house-cleaning equipment and the whiteboard they use to run their household. Anecdotal evidence suggests that shared households in New Zealand more often behave like a family than those in Australia and the United Kingdom, by shopping and eating together.
