New Zealand, Australian and British servicemen from a combined International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) cricket team bat against a combined Afghan National Army (ANA) Kandak (battalion) team in Kabul, Afghanistan, in June 2011. The ANA team defeated the ISAF team by more than 60 runs. Cricket has become hugely popular in Afghanistan in recent years. ISAF has attempted to use this love of the sport to improve relations between international forces and the Afghan army and people.
