Annelise Coberger, Albertville, 1992

Skier Annelise Coberger won the silver medal in the slalom at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics in France. New Zealand began sending teams to the Winter Olympics in 1952, but Coberger was the first New Zealander to win a medal. Before Coberger, New Zealand's winter Olympians received very little media coverage.
