Belinda Cordwell rose in prominence in the mid-1980s to become New Zealand's best woman tennis player of the day. She reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 1989 and at her peak was ranked 17 in the world. This is Cordwell during the second round match of the Fernleaf Classic at the Renouf Tennis Stadium in Wellington in 1989.
