Rimutaka Prison control room

Rimutaka Prison control room

This is the control room at Rimutaka Prison in Upper Hutt in 2008. Prison security is maintained by sophisticated electronic systems, closed-circuit television, video and microwave motion detectors and cellphone jammers. Since the opening of the maximum-security prison at Pāremoremo, Auckland, in 1969, security systems in New Zealand prisons have become more sophisticated and technically advanced.
