New Zealand soldiers in Afghanistan: distributing blankets

New Zealand soldiers distribute blankets to civilians in Bamyan province, Afghanistan. The Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), New Zealand's force in Bamyan, comprised liaison teams supported by infantry, engineers, staff officers, communications and logistics staff. Bamyan province, in central Afghanistan, was regarded as one of the more stable areas of the country. It was important for the PRT to maintain good relations with local people in order to be able to operate effectively.
