Protesters picket a Turkish café in Invercargill, where two Israeli women had been refused service in January 2009. The owner, on hearing the two women speaking Hebrew, refused to serve them, saying this was in protest against Israeli attacks on Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip. The Human Rights Commission ruled that his actions were illegal, constituting discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity, national origin or political opinion.
