This group of officers in the Kaponga lodge of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Odd Fellows are looking smart with their impressive sashes. The lodge in Kaponga, Taranaki, was active in the community. It held regular balls and was able to build its own hall in 1907. Manchester Unity had the most lodges and members of any of the different orders of friendly societies in the early 20th century.
