Feminist posters in the 1970s often used images from romantic comics of the 1950s and 1960s to challenge conventional ideas about women. This poster, produced by the Wellington Bisexual Women's Group in 1991, uses the same ironic humour to advertise fortnightly meetings at a downtown YWCA building. The meetings advertised highlight the group's involvement in a range of activities, from poetry readings to games evenings and discussion of the Employment Contracts Bill.The group was set up in the late 1980s to support bisexual women and advocate for their rights, and organised New Zealand's first national conference for bisexuals in 1990. It was still active in 2011.
