Kōrero: Dental care

Dentistry senior lecturer Dr Jonathan Leichter is surrounded by final-year dentistry students selected to work with him in the Cook Islands in June 2007. This mission to the Cook Islands was the second led by Dr Leichter. The first was to Rarotonga; this trip was to outlying Atiu. Sponsorship was obtained to meet the costs of students' travel. These students reflect the growing diversity among those training as dental and oral health professionals in the early 21st century. They are, from left, Varayini Yoganathan, Emma Ritchie, Des Naidoo, Howard Cho, Kellie Houlahan and Guy Farland.
