Right to Life New Zealand is opposed to the legalisation of voluntary euthanasia in New Zealand. While the major focus of Right to Life campaigners is opposition to abortion in New Zealand, the organisation also takes a strong stand on assisted death. In a recent statement Ken Orr, secretary of Right to Life New Zealand, argued that voluntary euthanasia is both suicide and murder. Those against euthanasia are not swayed by arguments relating to the right of an individual to choose death, and are particularly opposed to making it legal for doctors to assist in the death of patients who have indicated that they want to die.
