Red Nose Day was an annual fundraiser for research into cot death, which ran from 1989 until the late 1990s, and was resurrected in 2010. Governor-General Sir Paul Reeves, his wife Lady Beverley Reeves and their pet dog, Sophie, wear red noses in 1989.
