Māngere East School arson

Māngere East School arson

Seven classrooms were gutted by fire at Māngere East School in Māngere in June 2010. The fire destroyed everything in the rooms including precious Samoan mats in the Samoan bilingual unit. Māngere East was a decile-one school, a categorisation based on the low incomes, occupational status and educational level of families in the school's catchment area.
