The crowd dances to the Black Seeds at the grand finale of the 2009 Winter Festival in the Nelson School of Music's auditorium (capacity 600).  Founded in 1894, the Nelson School of Music is the oldest independent music school in New Zealand. The school hosts concerts by local and international artists. It also holds workshops and offers classes and musical tuition. The Winter Festival is held annually over a two-week period, and attracted some 5,000 people in 2010. It was originally held in 1994 as a one-off event to celebrate the music school's centenary.
