Kōrero: Māori–Pākehā relations

Te Māori exhibition, 1986 (3 o 3)

Te Māori exhibition, 1986

Eireann Neary of Heretaunga College, Upper Hutt, sketches figures from the Te Māori exhibition at the National Museum in Wellington in 1986. The exhibition had previously been seen at leading US museums, where it generated international admiration. Te Māori showed New Zealanders more clearly than ever before that the country's Māori culture and traditions marked it as distinctive and impressive in the eyes of the world.
