Kim Workman received the International Prize for Restorative Justice in 2005, when he was the national director of Prison Fellowship New Zealand. Of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairarapa and Rangitāne descent, Workman is a former head of the Prisons Service. He shared the award with Jackie Katounas of Ngāi Tahu, a former prison inmate. Both men worked as Christians to connect prisoners and victims of crime, and to pursue restorative justice. They were selected for this international award from people nominated from 22 countries. In this photograph, Workman views the world from behind bars.
