Harvest festival, about 1916

Methodist women have always played a large part in church life. They probably did most of the work to decorate the Greytown Methodist Church for its annual harvest festival. The minister is surrounded by fresh produce from the area, including plates of apples, loaves of bread and sheaves of wheat. This Wairarapa church is now the St Andrew's Union Church.
