Fog and frost

Fog and frost

Two of features of Waikato’s weather, heavy fog and frost, are seen in this view of Pirongia mountain. Both are common in winter, but some say the fogs are not as bad as they were when they were made denser by smoke from frequent peat fires, which were a common occurrence until the 1970s.
