Jumping through a fire

Jumping through a fire

Drinking alcohol to excess and risk-taking are traditional aspects of New Zealand male culture which have had a negative effect on the health of young men. Here a youth, beer can in hand, jumps through a fire on Castle Street, Dunedin, in September 2009, after the arrival of the Undie 500 car rally from Christchurch. Students subsequently became drunk and fought one another, threw bottles and lit fires.
