Boys mowing the lawn, 1970

Because keeping the section tidy was traditionally a man's job, boys often had the task of mowing the lawns. Using a handmower on a large lawn, as these two young Auckland boys are doing in 1970, would have been an exhausting job – no wonder two are needed to do it properly.
