Protest against the six-day week

Protest against the six-day week

Shop Employees' Union delegates organised this protest opposing plans to reinstate weekend trading in 1980. The banners read ‘Oppose 6 day working week' and 'Don't sell us out'. They opposed shop workers (in this case butchers) having to work at weekends and so miss out on time with their families.
